Founded twenty-five years ago, T Shirt & Sons has established themselves as a market leading t-shirt printing business and now dispatches 40,000 t-shirts a week. Having specialised in screen-printing, they were looking to expand into DTG and decided to use the Epson Surecolor F-2000 to do so.

T Shirt & Sons’ MD Andy Lunt explained that DTG printing provided his company with far more flexibility, as it was a solution for quick turnaround on demand printing and it allowed his customers to customise each individual t-shirt – benefits that screen printing just doesn’t have. It also allows his business to operate with minimum risk, as they can offer a huge inventory without any stock.

When speaking about the SC-F2000, Lunt described the final output as the best he has seen, versus any other desktop inkjet textile printer. The inks are as bright as screen printing, they retain a soft texture, there are no lines and it’s clean and precise. As well as Epson providing superior inks, the printer itself is easy to use and has straightforward software. It works hard even when placed under pressure and still performs beautifully. Despite its placement within their warehouse, described as hot and filed with cotton dust, the printer head hasn’t blocked or dried.
